Siblings

Cerro San Luis Micro Mill is a family-run business owned and operated by two siblings and their spouses in Grecia, West Valley. They have endeavoured to improve their quality and remain competitive, replacing their older stock with 10+ varieties, including Caturra, Red & Orange Bourbon, SL-28, Catuai, Villa Sarchi, and Maragogype. The farms are close to each other, but each plot is given a separate name for lot separation, and the mill is at the family home a few miles away. Here, they can process from washed & honeys to natural; in Costa Rica it is common to determine the honey type based on the pulp's mucilage amount. During the cupping session, we found a harmonious blend of sweet & savoury, sugariness & rich mouthfeel, tangy acidity, subtle floral undertones and a caramelised apple finish.
