Areias Farm, at 1,250 meters in Guapé, Minas Gerais, spans 122 hectares, with 56 dedicated to Yellow Catuai and Paraiso 2 coffee. Managed by agronomist Rafael Naves de Figueiredo, coffee cultivation began in 2019. Influenced by his grandfather’s legacy, Rafael pursued agronomy and spent a decade working with organo-mineral fertilizers across Brazil. Drawn by Serra Nova’s altitude and beauty, he and his wife Marianna now oversee Areias and Boa Vista farms, focusing on sustainable, climate-adapted practices. The farm uses integrated pest management, biological control, and organo-mineral fertilizers, while conserving more land than required, protecting springs, and employing CO2-neutral renewable energy. Controlled harvesting and drying enhance coffee quality, and employee well-being remains a priority. Areias Farm blends innovation, tradition, and a commitment to excellence.
