Producers: Pueblo Bello Community
Cesar, Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia
Pueblo Bello is a small mountain municipality where Colombia’s interior and Caribbean cultures meet. It’s a place defined by balance, where farming communities, indigenous groups, and coffee production coexist in a deeply connected and respectful way.
Coffee cultivation here has grown steadily, making Pueblo Bello one of the leading coffee-producing areas in the Cesar department. Behind this progress is a collective of dedicated farmers, including William Sepulveda, Adiel Coronel, Ferney Fuentes, Gustavo Vargas, Wilber Tafur, and Rubin Pianeta.
Community & Heritage
Most of these producers are third-generation coffee growers, continuing a legacy that began with their great-grandparents. Their families settled in Pueblo Bello after leaving Colombia’s central regions during periods of internal conflict, building new lives rooted in agriculture.
This shared history has shaped a strong sense of resilience and identity. Coffee is more than a crop, it’s a way to preserve heritage, support their communities, and share their story with the wider world.
Process: Sierra Nevada Washed
This lot is produced using carefully selected ripe cherries from Colombia, Caturra, and Castillo varieties.
- Cherries are hand-picked at peak ripeness
- Fermented for 24 hours to develop clarity and sweetness
- Mechanically dried for approximately 35 hours at a controlled temperature of 45°C
This precise and consistent process helps highlight the clean, structured profile typical of the Sierra Nevada region.
